BdD Clan is currently looking for Battlefield 3 players to join our ranks, and join in the fun!

A little bit about us.
We started in 2003 playing Spearhead, so we’ve been around the block for a while. After playing quite a few other games along the way, we’ve moved on from our MOH roots, and we’re concentrating on the Battlefield series of games. Primarily we’ve been playing Bad Company 2, and are eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of Battlefield 3. We’re already geared up for BF3 and currently have two servers online! We’re also planning, among other things, competitions and prize draws both game stats based and clan based.

First and foremost we all love games here at, and frequently play together in most of the latest titles, and there’s no finer place to play them than BdD! Somewhere where you know you are among friends, and can have fun.

That sums up what BdD has always been about: Fun. We always try not to lose sight of the fact that we’re still playing a game after all, and we have a membership policy of putting personality over sheer gaming skill. As such we never ask that potential members are super duper fantastic killers. Gaming skill can be taught over time, and we’d much rather have a clan of good friendly folks as it means we always have a laugh!

Hello all.

I just wanted to write a quick post to say that we as a clan are now well and truly on our way to Battlefield 3 greatness.  We now have two BF3 servers online!

Our first server, a 64 player Conquest frag-fest has proved to be very popular, and it has now been joined by a 32 player server, currently running a mixed rush/conquest rotation.

We’re looking to get this server as popular as our conquest server, and we’d love your help in doing just that. Finding the server couldn’t be simpler: just search for BdD in the Battlelog. Then add the server to your favourites and join us for some knifing!

Our BF3 server has been updated with the latest R7 patch.

Changes are:

- Fix for rubber banding
- TDM/SQDM spawn point fix
- 2 crash fixes in end of round
- Fix for connection problem when joining password protected servers
- Removed ‘vars.allUnlocksUnlocked’. once ranked server settings are enforced, this may come back in some form.

Also server player queuing has been added. I don’t think this means reserved slots, just queuing on a full server.

The R6 server update has been  pushed out to our server this morning.

Changes:

- Fix for crashes usually occurring during level switches. Server providers may see a little bit of memory leakage instead in this situation

- Game servers should no longer quit in some situations where the online backend servers are down. Server will reconnect to the backend once it’s up again

- Fix for ghost servers which didn’t accept connections

- Kick reasons should better match situations where they are issued. This will help battlelog provide more accurate information to the player

- Connection fixes to avoid players sometimes being rejected while joining the game server on one of the last slots

- Security updates

- Improved server logging

- Crash fixes

- Latest PunkBuster DLLs included (in case the server doesn’t auto-update)

- Security updates

- Fixed some problems with clientserver handshake, which would make players get kicked from the server halfway through loading

The clan server should already have been updated automatically, but if not it may go down for a few minutes while the work is completed.

Do you have BF3 downloaded on Origin and ready to go? Don’t want to wait for the official release date? Do the following and you can play it now!

Load up Origin and do the following BEFORE hitting the play button:

On Windows 7 go to:

• Control Panel
  
• Choose small icons as your view
  
• click Internet Options
  
• click on the Connections tab
  
• click on the Lan Settings button
  
•  under Proxy Server tick the box and enter the ip 210.107.100.251 and port 8080
  
•  click Ok and apply the settings.

Now load up BF3 and the game should run the usual release date check. With any luck it’ll work and battlelog will start to load in your browser.

That’s it!

REMEMBER: untick / remove the proxy server settings right away.

We’re very pleased to announce that <|BdD|> will be supporting BF3 as soon as it’s released, and we have a brand spanking new 64 player server waiting in the wings, ready to be switched on on release day!

We are also planning on giving things here at <|BdD|> a bit of a revamp, with an aim to making us the only place that players will want to come to when they’re considering joining a BF3 clan.
There are a few preliminary details over on the Battlefield 3 webpage ( http://bddclan.co.uk/battlefield-3/ ), but this is just a taster of what’s in-store for the future of this clan.
Of course, some of this is dependent on the final features of the release version of the game, and with that in mind it may take a little while to finalise everything. But rest assured, over the next few months <|BdD|> plan to be at the forefront of the BF3 scene!

The Beta has finally been announced! There are some important points to note regarding early access for MOH players etc, so be sure to read on and pay attention.

The Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will open to all gamers on September 29, 2011. Players from around the world will have a chance to experience the game that industry critics have hailed as the ‘Best Online Multiplayer Game’ before it ships on October 28th, 2011. The beta is set in Paris on the Operation Metro map, where players work their way from lush parks on the outskirts of the city to a dark, bombed-out metro station, to the vibrant streets around the Paris stock exchange. The Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. BC2 R11 Client Patch

BFBC2 PC Client R11 will be released on Sep 21st
Despite the release of BF3 being around the corner, we haven’t forgotten all about Bad Company 2. We have a game update ready for BFBC2 PC, which is coming out this week. It is client R11. The exact build number is 795745.

What is the patch about?
Its main purpose is to address stability problems with the game and performance issues.
It is not intended to address game logic fixes, or to provide new content.

You are being vague. Exact changelist please!

• Removed some memory leaks
• Fixed crashes when the game attempted to render lots of content (high detail, high FOV or multiple-monitor modes); this should particularly help multi-monitor users
• Chat window no longer causes lag spikes
• Chat window reworked opacity & visibility-time is controllable through settings in settings.ini
• Clantag is remembered when using auto-login
• Banner URLs can be up to 252 characters in length
• SecuROM wrapper removed from non-Steam version
• Minor performance enhancements
• Reduced rubberbanding on >24p servers
• PrintScreen takes a screenshot, file stored in Documents\BFBC2\Screenshots directory

How large is the patch?
It is approximately 2.6GB.

That’s huge man. Given that size, I would expect dinosaur survival mode to be included.
The patch itself contains all previous patches rolled into one. While it would have been technically possible to create a smaller patch for those who have Client R10 installed already, that would have delayed the release of the patch even further – so we thought it better to release a larger patch now, than a smaller patch sometime in the future.

Are there any known problems with it?
If your Windows username contains non-English characters (such as ö, ý, etc) then PunkBuster will not activate properly. To work around this, ensure that your Windows username uses only characters from the English character set. In other words, “7-bit ASCII only, please”.
We caught this at the very end of the QA pass, and decided that it was better to deliver the build to the public than to give it another tour through the whole patch generation and QA process.

How do I get the patch?
If you have the Steam version, then the Steam client will automatically begin distributing it to you in the wee hours of Wednesday morning… at 4AM UTC, to be precise.

If you have the non-Steam version, then the auto-updater will suddenly discover the patch around that same time.

Or – you can find a manual updater for the non-Steam version here. Note that if you install Client R11 too early, you will not see any game servers. If so, just wait till those begin updating as well.
For those users that are having problem with the game’s auto-updater, we recommend trying the manual updater.

What about game servers?
These will gradually be updated by the RSP companies, starting at 4AM UTC on Wed Sep 21st as well. New game clients can only see new game servers, and vice versa… so toward the end of the day, most of the servers should be updated and visible in the new game client’s server browser.

It looks like the folks over at Dice are starting another one of those exceptionally annoying video series’ again. Solely designed to make you clammer at your PC with anticipation, and giving you just enough to peak your interest but not enough to satisfy, rendering you immensely frustrated.

This time around the series is called Operation Guillotine, and shows more from the single player campaign. Part one is below, and the rest looks set to be revealed on 16.9.11. There are also rumours that the beta will become available on the 16th as well, but these are vague at best so I wouldn’t get your hopes up!
