The Pacific...

The sequel to Band of Brothers is coming to Sky Movies Premier HD this Spring, and it looks absolutely amazing. Once again it would appear that it's based on an Ambrose book. Hugh, this time, son of Stephen, the writer of BoB. So hopefully they've recaptured the characterisation and magic of BoB, that only a story based on real people can muster.

Downloaded and watched Episode 1 at the end of last week. Like BoB it starts a lil bit slow to give a bit of baseline, but there's action nearer the end. I reckon it's going to be non-stop jungle warfare from this point on :D

How wrong was I !! It was f0rkin awful. Not enough time spent spraying. Never really gave a shit about the characters like BoB. Couldn't even tell u their names. Very disappointed.

Yeah same here. In fact, I don't think I've even bothered getting around to watching the last couple of episodes, as I really couldn't care less. They're still sat on my Sky+. Like you say there was no real character development, so you didn't get a chance to really get a grip of who was who. As a result, as soon as they were all wearing the same uniform I lost track, and didn't care what happened to them. It just didn't seem to have the 'heart' that BoB had.

Such a shame, as the guys that fought out there have been shouting for recognition for a long time. They're fucked off about the European boys getting all the coverage and 'glory'. I was hoping that this would do their story justice, but I really don't think it did.
